Scent of Darkness By Christina Dodd

I’ve read this novel about four different times now and I still love it. It’s actually one of the few novels that I happen to own. Because of this fact I simply can’t get away from this series no matter how hard I try. That’s just how good these novels truly are. They’ve got these added aspects to them that make you wish they were real. That way you could enjoy them even more. Unfortunately, they aren’t real, but they do make for a good steamy romance novel.

Ann loves her job and the man that she works for. So much so that she’s made a plan to woo her handsome employer. A plan that she feels is foolproof. She so dresses up in her sexiest outfit and drives all the way to his private getaway house. However, everything isn’t as it always seems and Jasha is way more than he seems. When Ann witnesses something that she shouldn’t have she now has to stay with Jasha. She has uncovered a secret that Jasha and his family have been trying to keep secret for a very long time now. The secret being that his whole family are shifters. Those who are able to shift into powerful predators at will. Jasha is now certain that Ann is his mate and would do anything for her. Which includes keeping her safe from his cousins who are now trying to kill them both. Because Ann has found one of the sacred Madonna pieces that could help to break their curse. Something that Jasha’s brothers and father want, but not the rest of their family. Which means that they’re now being hunted and hunted hard. Jasha’s cousins won’t stop until they have the Madonna piece and they’re already proving to be ruthless. So now Ann must trust her employer and his family. Otherwise she may not live long enough to regret it.

This is an adult urban fantasy romance novel, and a good one at that. It has a lot going for it. There’s romance, fighting, adventure, and of course some shape-shifting as well. But they don’t only shift into wolves. Which is where the plot twist come in. The plot twist is very intertwined with the plot itself. Making it come alive when it’s actually read. There’s just so much excitement, during certain parts of the novel, that as a reader I could hardly contain myself. This is what readers are looking for and I must say that it works rather well with this novel. So for my recommendation I’d say that this is a must-read novel. Especially, for those readers who love a good urban fantasy novel like me.
