I still love this novel just as much as I did the first time I read it. There’s just so much going on in a whole new world. A world that Katie Reus has made me want to visit at least once in this lifetime. Because this series is different from other shifter novels. These novels are more in-depth with their plots, and the characters are just to die for. Which is one of the main reasons as to why I love this series so much.
Ana has been present for more disasters than she could ever hope for. The first being when someone poisons their water wells. Resulting in all the male shifters and pregnant females dying. The second being, that their livestock has either been killed or set loose. Which has now cause Ana’s pack a financial setback. Forcing her to confront the one shifter that she believes to have done it. A shifter who will do whatever it takes to make both Ana and her property his. A fact that is proven when he tries to rape her at a simple meeting. Which he very well could have gotten away with it if it wasn’t for Connor Armstrong walking into the clearing. The one man that Ana never expected to walk back into her life again. But he has and now he’s pissed. For Taggart to try and take advantage of Ana at her time of need is beyond low. And even if Connor didn’t like the man before, he’s all but declared his death wish now. Especially, when it all has to do with Ana. The only woman that he’s ever had to walk away from. And it’s a mistake that he won’t be repeating this time around. Because Connor plans on taking care of Ana and her she-wolves, by joining their packs together. Which also ensures that Ana will be Connor’s Mate as well. A fact that Ana is a bit weary on. For Connor was the only man that Ana truly loved, but he did walk away from her once before. However, the need to protect her pack is strong and she ultimately agrees. Because unlike many other packs the Armstrong one is full of warrior class wolves. Wolves with the need to protect others deep inside of them. And when the killing starts again they’re exactly what the pack needs to survive.
This novel would be classified as a paranormal romance novel. One that is every bit an urban fantasy novel right along with the romance. It’s a novel full of passion, mystery, wonderment, and of course a paranormals alike. Especially considering the fact that it has two strong main characters that clashed very well together. It’s the good kind of clash that eventually leads you to an excellent twist in the plot itself. One that both can and can’t be seen coming. It’s a perfect mixture to an already perfect novel. So when it all comes down to my final recommendation I’d have to say that it’s a pretty damn good one. For this is a novel that will keep you hooked for a long time. So I suggest that you run to the nearest bookstore and pick it up today. It’s exactly what I did and I haven’t regretted it since.
